First Descents - Punta de Mita, Mexico
In November, I had the pleasure of traveling to Mexico for John & Faeben's destination wedding in Puerto Vallarta with my hometown bestie, Michele. In a beautiful coincidence of events, some of our good friends from the Outer Banks, Hannah, Aaron and Farmer of Farmdog Surf School were there at the same time for an exciting opportunity. They partnered up with First Descents, a DOPE non-profit organization that sponsors outdoor adventure experiences for young people affected by cancer. Everyone gets a nickname -- mine was "Click," and everyone is pushed beyond their own comfort levels (I personally had an experience on some rocks that taught me a little something about my own self). Everyone I met was so fun, silly and genuinely kind. Thanks so much to the whole crew (especially "Crash" and "Daryl" for letting me & Michele be apart of such a great week.)
