ABOUT LAUREN

Lauren Cowart was born in the desert Southern California. She was raised in Arizona and off the coast of North Carolina, graduating with a photojournalism degree from UNC-Chapel Hill. After building a fruitful photography business in graduation and wedding portraiture, she moved to New York City to pursue and expand her photography dreams. As she ventured into commercial and brand events, advertising and celebrity photography spaces, she spent seven years living in upper Manhattan. She continues to expand into videography projects, having completed her first mini documentary, into editorial photography after shooting her first three fashion campaigns with Wrangler, and into all types of visual documentation within the music industry, from artist creative collaboration to live performances.

A photographer since the age of 18, Lauren has documented moments of love, beauty and resistance as a way to honor the diversity of life’s experience and a way to understand the world around her. She’s been blessed to travel the globe with her camera in hand, working worldwide with top brands and led by the most hardworking, talented teams. Much of her success is attributed to referrals and collaborations bloomed from the community and connections rooted from her college experience in the great state of North Carolina.

This web site is an active work in progress (updated Dec 2022) and intended to be a sensory celebration of gratitude for Lauren’s abundantly vibrant life experiences thus far.
